Cool stuff
This is just a smol compilation of stuff I find around online, based websites, or really whatever I feel like putting here. Screw you, it's my website, don't tell me what to do.
nadeko.net
There are a few gigachads around who host free anti-big-tech services on a massive scale. I am not one of them, I'm only hosting a bit of my crappy Rust libraries & a game, but Fijxu who hosts nadeko.net definitely is.
Fijxu hosts Invidious, which is
a jewtube frontend/proxy similar to 4get & my
main use of his site, but he's also got other things like a monero node,
a pastebin, and a... videocall platform now...? I personally think I'll
stick to ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 | socat but ok sure ig, I
still think what he's doing is super based.
4get is... uh... i forgor 💀
no jk
4get is a based meta search engine, or more like a
scraper/proxy that forwards your search queries to (hopefully) make it
harder for microslop & gooogul to spy on you.
You get a choice out of a decent number of regular search engines to
scrape from all from a single page with no bloat and no gAy-I pop ups
everywhere.
It's run by a cool guy called Will, gib him an api key donation 😎
FreeDNS
> be me
> getting a domain name
> $2 for first year then $358.01
> needs name, address, credit card, mother's maiden name, covid vax,
sacrifice of 1st son & blood contract
> hellnah.gif
So, people built FreeDNS. Really the whole design of a centralized name registrar is really badly flawed (intentionally I'm sure), and you could come up with 100 better ideas, but unfortunately this is what normies have installed by default and to accomodate them we need to use their crappy systems.
Anyway, FreeDNS lets anyone register a subdomain under regular domains donated to the cause by random chads. Understandably scammers use this too, which means some domains end up on blacklists for ad blockers (like ftp.sh lmao), but hey most normies don't know even what an ad blocker is so it works for the most part.
LibRedirect
LibRedirect is just a small catalogue of alternative frontends/proxies to commonly used bloated websites that track you. It's how I discovered nadeko.net through Invidious but it has some other useful tools as well - it's just handy to have bookmarked.
